LMU Setup
Configure Le Mans Ultimate to work with Braking Lab Capture for telemetry analysis.
Capture supports Le Mans Ultimate (LMU) telemetry. Like iRacing, LMU requires a one-time setup to enable telemetry recording.
Enabling Telemetry in LMU
- Open Le Mans Ultimate and go to Settings > Gameplay
- Enable “Record Telemetry” (DuckDB logging)
- Complete at least one lap — a
.duckdbfile will be created automatically
That’s it. From now on, LMU will save telemetry after every session.
Default Telemetry Location
LMU stores telemetry files in:
C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\Le Mans Ultimate\Telemetry\Capture detects this path automatically during setup. If you’ve moved your Documents folder or use a custom location, you can configure the path in Settings > Simulators > LMU.
Verifying in Capture
Capture checks your LMU installation automatically and shows a status indicator:
- Green indicator — LMU telemetry folder detected and working
- Yellow warning — Folder found but no telemetry files yet
- Red alert — LMU installation not detected
You can verify or change the detected path anytime in Settings > Simulators.

LMU Beta Limits
During the LMU beta period, the following limits apply:
- Maximum file size: 200 MB per telemetry file
- Lap cap: Applied to very large sessions to ensure smooth processing
These limits will be adjusted as the feature matures.
Troubleshooting
No LMU Files Detected
- Run at least one LMU session — Telemetry files are created after completing a session
- Check the default path — Look for
.duckdbfiles inDocuments\Le Mans Ultimate\Telemetry\ - Custom path — If you moved your LMU installation, update the path in Capture settings
LMU Not Showing in Capture
- Make sure you have the latest version of Capture installed
- Check Settings > Simulators to verify LMU is listed
- Restart Capture if LMU was installed after Capture
