Race Weekend
Your races and their preparations in Braking Lab Capture. Activate a practice, get each stint measured while you drive, or run the quick programme.
Race Weekend shows your races and their preparations inside Capture. A preparation is the plan for a race: its car and track, and the stints of each practice. You create and change it on the web or with Ray. In Capture you activate its practices and drive them.
It works in iRacing and in Le Mans Ultimate. You need to be signed in, because your races come from your account.
Activate a practice
- Join a practice session with the race’s car and track.
- Open Race Weekend. The race card offers its next practice (FP1, FP2…).
- Press Activate.
A practice never starts on its own. One practice is active at a time, and activating another replaces it.
You can activate from the garage once the session has loaded, in either sim, so the programme is ready before you leave the box.
Each stint has an objective
Capture measures each stint against its objective while you drive. A stint starts when you leave the pits, and the out lap does not count.
| Objective | What it asks for |
|---|---|
| Clean laps | A number of clean laps. When the plan asks for them in a row, an off-track, a track limit, a yellow flag or an iRacing incident resets the count. |
| Consistency | A small spread across your last clean laps, and sometimes a pace close to your best |
| Fast lap | One clean lap under a target time |
When a stint misses its objective, the preparation decides what happens next. If not met says whether you repeat the stint or move on to the next one.
The practice programme overlay shows the stint you are driving and its verdict. Stopped in the box in practice, it stays on screen so you can read the verdict.
Results are kept on this PC and upload with the session. Then the task of each finished stint ticks itself on the web.
No preparation for this car and track
If you have no preparation for the car and track you are driving, you have two options.
Run the quick programme. It has three stints: familiarisation, consistency and a fast lap. Tick the ones you want and adjust their numbers. The fast lap target sits halfway from your average lap to your ideal, so it never asks you to beat your best. Its results are saved with the session.
Prepare it on the web. This opens the race form on the web with the car and track filled in. The preparation wizard builds the plan.
Race analysis
Ray’s race analysis covers iRacing races. A Le Mans Ultimate race card sends you to the web instead.
