AboutLime Rock Park
Connecticut's own Lime Rock Park is one of the oldest continually operating road racing venues in America. Opened in 1956, the track has long been a staple of the United States' premier road racing championships, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship's Northeast Grand Prix from 2015 to 2023 and Trans Am’s Memorial Day Classic off and on since 1967. Its addition to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule for 2025 marks the first time the track has seen one of NASCAR’s three premier national series.
With seven corners and multiple long straightaways on its classic layout, Lime Rock Park is also one of the fastest road courses in North America. For that reason, it also features multiple chicanes that are occasionally used as part of different layouts to slow cars down. Under a unique injunction present for most of the track’s history, Sunday racing is not allowed at Lime Rock Park, but unmuffled Friday and Saturday events are common. For its extensive history and iconic layout, the track was also added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
