How the UM Ford GT GT3 Handles Braking
The Ford GT GT3 V2 offers sophisticated brake control through a dual-master-cylinder system spanning 15.9mm to 23.8mm, allowing drivers to mechanically shift brake balance before fine-tuning with the in-car bias adjustment. This flexibility is essential given the car's 1411kg wet weight and mid-engine layout, which creates dynamic weight transfer patterns during braking. The system includes three brake pad compounds (Low/Medium/High friction) and a 12-position ABS with dedicated maps for dry (1-6), wet (7-11), and full disable (12), giving you precise control over intervention levels.
Braking stability connects directly to suspension setup, particularly through low-speed rebound damping. Increasing rear rebound stiffness slows the pitch change as you apply brakes, enhancing stability but potentially reducing rear grip. Front camber adjustments create a direct tradeoff: more negative camber improves mid-corner grip but reduces braking performance, requiring a rearward bias shift to compensate. This relationship between alignment and brake balance is critical for optimizing both corner entry and mid-corner phases.
The manual recommends mapping brake bias, traction control and ABS to accessible controls for on-track adjustment. The dry and wet ABS ranges describe the available maps, not a universal starting setting. Tire-temperature readings help evaluate tire loading and alignment; they do not measure brake temperature.
Stop Guessing, Start Improving
Many drivers slam the brakes with all their strength, but the fastest modulate pressure, use the brake to rotate the car, and exit as fast as possible. Train that skill here.

General practice tips
Tip 1
Starting point
Start with the official setup and consult the simulator documentation for available controls. Appropriate brake bias depends on the car and conditions.
Tip 2
One variable
Change one setting at a time and compare several laps. Record the change and observed behavior before keeping it.
Tip 3
Comparable conditions
Compare similar fuel loads, tires and track conditions. One lap alone does not establish that a setting is better.
