The Whelen Tour Modified is the higher-powered Tour interpretation of the roofed, open-wheel pavement Modified.

Brake controls and adjustments

The revised Tour brake system uses different front and rear pad compounds to reduce brake-balance movement at high disc temperatures.

Tyres and operating conditions

The June 2026 update introduced redesigned bias-ply tyres with different left- and right-side compounds. Grip is lower when cold and develops as the tyres warm up.

Suspension and chassis

The Tour car now has its own suspension geometry and inspection limits: setups no longer transfer to the SK. Rear track-bar settings show actual mount heights above the ground and spring ranges vary by track type. Rebuilt dampers use a 20-click scale instead of 40, keeping the overall range but making each click coarser.

Engine and electronic systems

The official Tour profile describes a small-block V8 with a four-barrel Holley carburettor producing over 600 hp. This is a different engine specification from the lower-cost SK version.

Stop Guessing, Start Improving

Many drivers slam the brakes with all their strength, but the fastest modulate pressure, use the brake to rotate the car, and exit as fast as possible. Train that skill here.

General practice tips

Tip 1

Starting point

Start with the official setup and consult the simulator documentation for available controls. Appropriate brake bias depends on the car and conditions.

Tip 2

One variable

Change one setting at a time and compare several laps. Record the change and observed behavior before keeping it.

Tip 3

Comparable conditions

Compare similar fuel loads, tires and track conditions. One lap alone does not establish that a setting is better.

Frequently asked questions

General guidance for practicing and consulting car-specific sources.

Where can I find settings for the Modified - NASCAR Whelen Tour?

Consult the official sources linked on this page and the setup supplied with the simulator. Available settings depend on the car.

How should I compare a setup change?

Change one variable and compare several laps in similar conditions. Record your observations and keep a reference setup.

How can I practice pedal control?

Use pressure and release exercises to practice repeatable movements. Then check their application in the simulator with your chosen car and circuit.
