# Analyze in Capture

> Open any session inside Capture. Read the lap list, track map and channel lanes, compare with a reference lap and open each braking zone.

Since version 1.4.0, Capture analyzes your sessions inside the app. You do not need to open the website to read a lap.

## Find a session

**Analyze** in the sidebar lists every session in your account and on this PC. It also lists the sessions that still wait to upload from this PC.

- Filter by **Simulator**, **Track** and **Car**.
- Pick a session to open it.

You can also open a session from Home. In the **History** tab, press **Analyze** on the session row.

## Read the session

The session view shows three things:

- **The lap list.** It shows your pace, your best sectors and your theoretical best lap.
- **The track map.** Use **Color the line by** to color your line by **Inputs**, **Speed**, **Brake** or **Throttle**.
- **The channel lanes.** There is one lane per channel along the lap: **Throttle**, **Brake**, **Gear**, **Steering**, **RPM** and **Yaw rate**.

The map and the lanes move together. Hover one, and the other follows.

To zoom into a stretch of the lap, drag across the strip on top of the lanes. You can also scroll, or press plus and minus. Press 0 to show the whole lap again.

If the lap did not record a value, Capture shows "—" and not 0.

## Compare against a reference lap

Press **Compare** to open **Compare Lap**. Pick the reference lap from one of these tabs:

| Tab | What it lists |
|-----|---------------|
| **Session** | Other laps of **This session**, and laps from **Other sessions** you synced |
| **Leaderboard** | Public laps with telemetry for this track |
| **Garage61** | Laps you import from a Garage61 CSV export (iRacing only) |

Other sessions and the leaderboard appear only after this session is uploaded to the cloud.

How to read the comparison:

- Your lap is the solid line. The reference lap is the dashed line.
- The delta bar shows the time you gain or lose along the lap.
- Braking zones are paired by their position on track. If the reference lap has no braking zone at a corner, Capture says so.

Press **Save comparison** to keep a comparison and come back to it later.

### Import a Garage61 lap

The **Garage61** tab shows only for iRacing sessions.

1. Export the lap from Garage61 as a CSV file.
2. Keep the original filename. Capture reads the driver, car, track and lap time from it: `Garage 61 - [Driver] - [Car] - [Track] - [Time] - [ID].csv`.
3. In the **Garage61** tab, press **Import from Garage61**.
4. Drop the CSV file in the box, or click to browse.

The track must match your session. If the car is different, Capture warns you. You can still press **Import anyway** and use the lap as a reference.

## Open a braking zone

Click a numbered braking zone on the map to open it. The zone shows:

- Entry speed and minimum speed
- Peak brake
- Duration
- A close-up trace of the zone

With a reference lap, choose **Your lap**, **Reference lap** or **Both**. The reference lap is dashed.

### Create an exercise

For laps in your Braking Lab account, press **Create exercise** in a braking zone. Capture turns the brake trace of that corner into a practice exercise.

Laps that are only on this PC cannot become exercises. Upload the session first.

## Keyboard

Focus a chart, then use these keys:

| Key | Action |
|-----|--------|
| Left / Right arrow | Move the cursor along the lap |
| Shift + arrow | Move in bigger steps |
| Home / End | Jump to the start or the end of the lap |
| `[` / `]` | Jump to the previous or next braking zone |
| Enter | Open the braking zone under the cursor |
